Receiving a Parking Charge can be frustrating. The most important thing is to deal with it promptly — ignore letters and the amount can increase, and options to appeal may close.
1. Check the details
Confirm the vehicle registration, location, date, and reason for the charge. Keep the notice and any photos or payment receipts that relate to the visit.
2. Decide: pay or appeal
If the charge is correct — for example the stay was unpaid or overstayed — paying early is usually the lowest-cost route. If you believe the charge should not have been issued, you can appeal with evidence.
3. Pay a Parking Charge
Use our online flow at Pay a Parking Charge. You will need the ticket or Parking Charge reference and the vehicle registration.
4. Appeal a charge
If you want to challenge the charge, start at Appeal a Charge. Explain clearly what happened and upload any supporting evidence (payment confirmation, blue badge details, proof you were not the driver where relevant, and so on).
